Air New Zealand CEO Ralph Norris has said that he agrees with New Zealand Finance Minister Michael Cullen that the proposed alliance with Australia's largest airline will fail.
However, the airline intends to salvage the deal by offering more concessions.
Mr. Norris said that Mr. Cullen's view that the deal will be rejected by the New Zealand and Australian competition regulators is "probably pretty accurate."
"Basically for us it's a matter of understanding what their concerns may be and addressing those in the process as it's being determined," Norris said. "We will be able to address what are the substantive issues that need to be dealt with through that process."
