HA 767 Registration Mixup Delays SFO-HNL Flight

Fri Mar 14, 2003 2:44 am

A HA auditor caught a registration problem for 1 of Hawaiian's new 767s, forcing a delay of 7 hours for a SFO departing flight on Wednesday. It seems that the leasing company had obtained a temporary certificate but no permanent registration had ever been issued. The media report is that no one is clear if it was the leasing company or the FAA that caused the mixup. Once paperwork was obtained the flight left SFO.

Oops!
Confusing flight numbers is another problem at ZRH. Not really a problem, but confusing for everybody! KLM operates KL1952 in the morning and KL1954 in the afternoon (plus a few other flights ex ZRH) while Swiss International has LX1952 and LX1954 just a few minutes after the KLM flights. The LX-flights, however, don't go to AMS...
