Virgin To Fly To Las Vegas Next Year

Mon Nov 22, 1999 3:35 pm

Reported in Flight International this week that Virgin have been given clearence to fly from London to Las Vegas.
They've wanted this route for years!
They will start twice weekly flights from Gatwick in June 2000, no mention of aircraft type but will probably be a 747-200 as the A430s and B747-400s tend to be used on more "business oriented" routes.

Are there any other direct transatlantic services to Las Vegas?
I know Airtours fly a weekly Manchester-Las Vegas flight with DC-10-30s and Air 2000 fly B767-300s weekly from Gatwick.

Do you get any other Scheduled/Charter flights from Europe in Las Vegas?

For anyone living in Las Vegas, getting to London is about to get a lot quicker and easier!!!!!

No scheduled flights that I know of; JAL and NW, i believe still operate nonstop flights to NRT once a week each. America West D/C'd their flights to MEX.
