I think SFO
is the biggest surprise for EK
to fly to first. But I think DXB
is mainly for passengers flying to South Asian countries such as Pakistan and India. Emirates serves all major international airports in Pakistan and India except Bangalore which I am sure will change soon. It would be great to fly EK
to fly non-stop from SFO
take a transit and DXB
and fly anywhere in South Asia.
Right now people going to India from the west coast US usually fly though Asia and DXB
will be a whole new option with one-stop service to Lahore, Karachi, Penshwar, Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad, Dhaka, Colombo and even Male.
It will be intresting to see when SQ
starts non-stop flights to US west coast from SIN
. Two airline will offer one-stop flights to India and Pakistan.
Whenever I fly to India from Seattle I always have to fly to YVR
or even fly non-stop to NRT
then take at least two more stops in NRT
than in India have to transit in DEL, BOM or MAA.
I think SQ
does have an advantage over EK
for a while as it is starting flights to Bangalore with 7772s in May. Most people who live in San Francisco for IT
work are from Bangalore.
