Air Canada Cuts Another 3600 Jobs

They're cutting another 3600 jobs, lots of them in the administration

I guess it's unavoidable given AC's financial situation and the current world climate.

A friend at Jazz tells me they've been cutting vice presidents left, right, and centre. The whole management structure is under review.

Oh my God!

It was taking more than 30 minutes to be able to talk to someone in the reservation department, it will take 2 hours now.  Nuts

Thats true, Jazz has gone from I think 7 to 2 VP's in the last few weeks...even more management types will go soon, now all they need is to introduce a performance/reward program for the ground staff to thin out the 1970's civil servant mentality employees, and they will be well on their way back to profitablility  Big grin

Most of the "former" VPs at Jazz have just been given new titles...they still have their jobs, don't kid yourselves. All of us here have seen their new"roles and titles" in a memo released to staff.
