That is an MD87, not an MD90.

I have to say, the metal finish plus the tail looks sharp!

They should have put the metal look on all planes. It looks so much better.
I´ve seen JA8180 several times over the years and this aircraft was always kept in perfect condition. Just for info: originally it was delivered in the old JAL livery with white uppers/grey belly and cheatline.

The bare metal scheme is only being applied to the freighters.
I dumped at the gybe mark in strong winds when I looked up at a Porter Q400 on finals. Can't stop spotting.

The new c/s looks extremely similar to the old one. Kind of like an automobile with a "freshened-up" front and rear!

I like that scheme better than AA's.

That must be the shiniest bare metal I have ever seen!

Some of the JAL Cargo planes are wearing the full new livery including the creme colour fuselage, so why is this one in bare metal?

JA8180 is the only shiny metal aircraft in the JAL fleet, all other freighters are painted regular white.

In addition, there is the JTA 737-400 (JA8953) and Japan Air Commuter Saab 340b (JA8649) repainted into the new JAL Group colors.
