747 Carrying Nigerian Prisoners From BKK

Mon Apr 07, 2003 3:56 pm

I noticed a recent photo, in both Bangkok Post and Nation newspapers, showing a 747 that carried Nigerian prisoners back to Nigeria from Thailand but could not tell the exact airline and aircraft it was. Does anybody know what kind of 747 (742 or 743 or 744) and which airline that was? Thanks.

This was a Kabo Air aircraft, although I don't know the registration. It is probably a 747-200, I guess one of the ex-Virgin ones.

Kabo Air bought two of the ex Aer Lingus 747s; I wonder if it could have been either of these (or are they now farmed out for spares?)

The ex-Aer Lingus aircraft are parked for years now (painted in the old Kabo livery) and its unlikely they´ll fly again.
