LGW-LHR Shuttle

Tue Apr 08, 2003 5:40 am

I seem to remember British Airways (I think) operating a Helicopter transfer service between LGW and LHR up until the late 1980s. Has anyone ever flown this route and wouldn't it be great if there was such a service today.

It used to be operated by BCal and was called Airlink? Now if they reinstated it they would make money i am sure. It was cancelled because of complaints from local residents...i think????? correct me if i am wrong. my thought is you buy a house near a airport you can expect noise!!!! thats a fact.

It sure as Hell beats the bus--it can take up to 1.5 hours.
But I doubt it would get reinstated anytime soon.

I'm sure I read that British Air Ferries were interested, at one time, in operating a 3 times daily LHR-LGW-STN round trip using a Sh360.

Does this shuttle operate right now, and how much does it cost?
