Delta Airlines New Policy Of Background Check

Wed Apr 09, 2003 8:37 am

i tried to see if this was posted before, i know i saw it some were but i couldn't find it.
i heard that delta airlines is going to start screening passengers in a different way. like looking at your bank accounts and stuff like that...

so lets say you had a credit history that is not too perfect, or you over drafted your credit card for some reason, or even overdrafted your bank account, would they deny your boarding? what is this exactly about?

i just dont understand it, what if you were a visitor to the USA, or a foriegner on a business mission or even a diplomat, what would be the case here  Smile?

As I understand it, things are now being tested by DL in 3 so far unnamed US markets.The propsed system is so far, far from perfect. Too many unanswered questions, not the least of them being, what recourse do passengers have for wrong information in the databases? There has been talk that they will look into credit reports etc. etc. Based upon the information, thee are 3 levels the passengers will be classified.
green=passengers can fly
yellow= passengers can fly but with added security checks
red=passenegr can not fly
My opinion is that there are enough politicians that care about peoples civile liberties and privacy in this country, that it will be quite a while before this propsed system is perfected and up and running. Too many things that need to be fine tuned.

This doesn't make any sense.. what does one's credit file have to do with a passenger's right to buy a ticket?

Weird.

anyone have an educated guess on the airports... I don't think Atlanta, too big for this right now... also if you are red flagged right now are u still not allowed to fly or are you checked thoroghly due to the fact that this is just a test
