What Aircraft Is EQV?

Wed Apr 09, 2003 11:07 pm

Hello everyone,

maybe you can help me out with this. I'm just searching for flights and good air fares for my next US trip and noticed flights from SEA to FRA from United, US Airways and American Airlines and all flight says EQV for the aircraft equipment...

So, do you know what that is?

Thanks for all your help in advance...

Hi Tobi,

EQV simply means "Equipment may vary", different types are used on these sectors.
Btw, which source are you checking? Try to either download timetables directly on the airline homepages (or Star Alliance) or go to to find out the particular aircraft.

Hope that helps!

EQV= Equipment varies. It means that depending on how many pax they have on that flight they will allocate a certain type of plane. E.g if a small load then a 737 may suffice, if large then a 757 etc. The decision is usually made at the last minute by the airline.

In for example flight BCN-EZE is listed as a direct flight with 1 stop Equipment:EQV, and if you click on the flight number you will see that really you have to change of plane. (for example BCN-MAD:M87 and MAD-EZE:340)
