The board of directors for Air India has approved the renewal of the lease on 2 Airbus A310-324 aircraft due to expire later this year. The decision was taken during the board meeting on Saturday in Mumbai.
The aircraft in question are VT-EVE Periyar (formerly 9V-STS, msn 501) and VT-EVF Mahanadi (formerly 9V-STU, msn 548). The lease will be renewed for an additional 2 year period from Singapore Airlines.
Air India is the world's largest operator of the Airbus 310 in passenger service with a fleet of 17 aircraft currently in service.
