USAirways Facts Sheet: Airlines Should Take Note

Tue Apr 15, 2003 11:47 pm

Why don't more airlines have one of these? What other airlines do have a page of this sort?

http://www.usair.com/about/corporate/profile/factsheets/index.htm

I was searching for info on USAirways and came across this excellent page. I noticed it was for the "Press." What a great idea. This would certainly cut down on the number of calls the airline would recieve for general info. . .that happens more often than you could shake a stick at.

USAirways is was very smart to incorporate this page.

What's so important about it?
Why does it make them 'smart'?
The numbers are available from any number of sources.
Believe me, I doubt seriously it cuts down on any media calls...they rarely bother to look up anything when they can just ask!

For people who are non-aviation buffs who need to get a story. . .it is convienient. Do you ever notice your local news doing a story on UAL, for instance, using file footage from 1988? Yeah, it's kinda like that.

If you know of "a number of sources" . . .good for you. I'm refering to the majority of others who do not, but need to get something from a source like this once in a blue moon. There just happens to be a lot of blue moons out there when you add up all these reps.

The Southwest one isn't as detailed. I still had to make an inquiry for average pay information for a school project.
Still waiting for a response.

Continental has a very detailed fact sheet - 12 pages, in fact.

Wow. Continental's page is pretty good. Never had to look at theirs before, but I'll make a note of it. Thanks AKelley728.

Actually, most major airlines have some sort of fact sheet/company profile:

America West:
http://www.americawest.com/aboutawa/companyprofile/aa_factsheet.htm (and several pages linked at the left)

Delta:

American:

etc.

I've got to plug my hometown airline for their fact sheet as well...Frontier at

P.S. Greg- A fact sheet will loose its importance when news footage shows UA with something other than a 722, and when CO has a shot of something other than a 747. Until that happens, companies should look out for themselves by providing current information to anyone who cares to invest some time in accurately reporting a story.
