Trans Caribbean Update?

Fri Apr 18, 2003 3:21 am

Just wondering, since this is airline seems to be "so" real, they supposively had an April start-up.

It's past mid-month.

So, where are they?

or is this just a virtual airline gone bad?

I hate to say it, but I'm starting to think this as well:

I went to their "office" in Baton Rouge just a little white ago... and basically turned out to be nothing but a secretary in some travel office with a whole bunch of "Visit the Caribbean" brochures. The fact that they actually do have a tangible office is encouraging... though the fact that they have absolutely nothing airline-related in said office is rather suspicious.  Sad

I don't know, looks like another email is in order, as they've been pretty good in responding to me. My doubts are starting to grow as well, although I have a feeling that it's just delayed somehow...I'd expect a startup in June....if not by then, forget about it.

Fred, it might be time to pay that office another visit...maybe they have more stuff goin on in there.

The visit I'm talking about was this Monday! Not the first one I made about 3 weeks ago  Sad

A lot of the high-ups in MSY management are starting to wonder. Wouldn't be the first time we've strung along by a potential suitor: first it was Western Pacific, then Great Plains, now TCA.

I was thinking for a while they'd be wet-leasing off someone else's certificate (I guess that's legal), or possibly acting as a travel firm assisting in operating this spring/summer's Caribbean charters. I must admit it had me going for awhile.

I must also admit, I've been a little bit distracted this week. Every time I turn around now, there's another Delta Connection RJ at the terminal. And I see Comair is fixing to re-start MSY-MCO.

Hey Tom...how was DFW???

I think it will actually be Chautuaqua (spelling?) operating the MCO flights with the ERJ's. So as of June, ASA, Skywest, Comair, and Chata. will all fly from MSY....interesting huh?

And Continental Express RJ's to CLE in June also.

I'll try to stop by the office one of these days, my mom's in the hospital now so things have been kinda hectic.

What ever became of Great Plains and MSY anyway? I emailed them about a month ago and they said MSY was on their future plans...any news about that?
