RR Trents For 744NG?

Sat Apr 19, 2003 3:03 am

RR Trents 553/556 surely look great on 345/346. I was wondering whether or not it was possible to upgrade them to 562 for 744ER and 565 for 744QXLR? Those engines would surely look awesome on the 744NG aircrafts! Doesn't this idea sound feasible or not? Thanks for any answers to this question.

They proposed the RR Trent 600 for the 764X and 747X projects.
Rated at 65,000 and up i beleieve.

the 600 was a derivative of the 500 i think.

Hope this helps.

The Trent 600 is what was being proposed for the next generation 747s. However, Boeing has shelved any plans for a next generation 747.

If there was a 747NG, new powerplants wouldbe in in order to meet new noise regs.
