I would agree with the point that CX or SQ is better than TG.. ( wouldn't argue with that
) With only 1 bad experience I would just forget about it , perhaps it was someone else to blame for the trouble like the ground crews of CX , or that set of flight attendants. however if u'd like to hear about my bad experience with CX.. here goes
April last year , I travelled with CX ( CX 713 to Singapore and CX 712 back ) it was a normal 747-400 , CX did not fit any PTV on then.. the flight to Singapore delayed for 2 hours, with only 2 announcement that " Our flight will be available for boarding shortly" and stuff like that.. no food was offered.. and a couple who needed to connect their flights in Singapore to Europe was completely ignored... the staff simply said "We'll be right with you.. I'm not in charge of this stuff" in the end they just got so fed up and sat down accepting their faith ( I'm not sure if they were actually offered another ticket ) I asked them and they said that their MAS flight to Amsterdam would be leaving in 30 minutes from Singapore and the flight to Singapore itself hasn't took off. Several other passengers asked what's the matter.. the crew simply had no idea.. they just said " Ohh.. I have to check I have to check" ( This is at the gate already ) finally we boarded, there was something wrong with the main screen ( no PTV yet ) TV and there was NO safety Video shown ( not even crew demonstration ) , it was only a 2 hour flight , so I 'm not sure if this is suppose to be like this.. they only served a sandwich ( like those given on long-haul flights for snack ) and a glass of orange juice ( no choice of other drinks ) , they acted somehow busy and answered passengers question with "attitude" , some other passengers asked about choice of drinks , approximation of the time the flight will land. Etc. I also asked an FA ( Singaporean ) for some immigration form.. and the reply was " U were suppose to get it yourself at the gate.. I can't get it for you now , you will have to wait , or you can walk to the galley and ask the people there for some" That was when my mother got very angry and wrote a complaint letter to CX's head office and through their homepage , we did not recieve any reply 'till now
I wouldn't blame you if you think I'm lying because this seems very unbelievable for an airline which is known as "The Best", however it did happen. I still fly CX a lot and I am still enjoying their services everytime I fly with CX. I do not want to start any war between us for that I can never fight with you about who's better. Everyone knows that , I just wanted to say that Thai is a good airline with high standards.
