BBJ3, A 739 Or 752?

Which aircraft would make a better BBJ3? A 737-900 or 757-200 or 300?

the 752 frame was what was being kicked around, Boeing was considering a BBJ3, but last I heard a whisper was last year.

The BBJ3 "Program" was put back on the shelf 2 years ago.
Boing found that the market for a business Jet the size of a 757-200 was to small to offer an "official" BBJ3. Very few of privet 757s are new orders, most are 2nd and 3rd hand.

The 739 would make a positively horrible business jet, I'd think. Its a fairly poor performer, and massively underpowered.

The 752 would make an amazing business jet, as the US government has proved.

A 752 would be an excellent business. But I believe you get more range out of the BBJ1?

I saw in some trade mag. (sorry, don't remember which one) about a year ago that it was planned for a 757-2.

Actually, early numbers that were thrown around when the 752-BBJ3 was being discussed was a range of aprox 7,200 n.m. The BBJ's max range is 6,200 n.m.

The 752 hands down. Plenty of room, performance and range. Plus a documented safe and dependable history.

Personally if I was to get a business jet Falcon 900EX or convert a 732/733 into a business layout.

Hahaha a 777 biz jet would be great until you needed to land at Teterboro.  Laugh out loud

A 737 really wouldn't do so well there either, but anyway my guess is a 777 can't land at a good number of close-in airports.

The 752 is a much better performer at shorter fields. It can carry more into a wider variety of places than 737 derivitives can. For an airliner, this ability usually takes second place to economic performance. For a business jet, the reverse is true.

I suspect the only reason that the 757 is not used more often as a business jet is that there are very few customers who need or can afford a business jet that large.
