NWA At Madrid Airport?

Mon Apr 21, 2003 3:57 pm

Hi friends!!

Any idea when we finally will be able to see this wonderful airline in Madrid Airport? I think a DC-10 (maybe a 742) is coming soon, but not sure and at nwa.com don´t get this information. By the way, will the aircraft come with its new livery colours? i like new colours, but i think i prefer the older one.

Thank You!!!

I thought that they were beginning flights from DTW to MAD on May 5. I could be wrong but to give you a ball park, I believe it was somewhere in the beginning of May. They are starting ops with DC-10's, and soon to be followed by A330's when they receive those later on.
Twinjets...if one fails, work the other one twice as hard!!!

Northwest cancelled the service as part of the latest round of service cuts that resulted from the war in Iraq. No references were made to a delayed launch, only that the service would not be starting as planned. So, this route has been put on hold indefinitely.

DTW-MAD which was to operate with a DC10-30 is off for now, maybe next summer, and maybe then with A330 aircraft. Too bad, the DTW-MAD route has potential - an easy connection from the West and Central US to Spain would be a welcomed addition by many pax.

Funny thing is that the MAD flights were really booked heavy... I was looking to non-rev out there.. and I saw that they were quite heavy, im sorta shcoked to see NW go after FCO/MAD.
