What Time Do You Like To Fly / Start Flying

Tue Apr 29, 2003 12:10 am

Hello all. Just a general question here. . .

What time of the day do you like to fly, or at least start your flight sequence?

Are you a:
1. "morning flier"
2. "mid-day flier"
3. "evening/night flier"

And why?

DIA ("morning flier")

I like to leave early. Being a non-rev I always try for the first of the day.
As far a coming home, I like to return at night. I don't like to fly home in the morning.

I'll have to second that (sans the non-rev part for the time being). There's just something about arriving at the airport in the pre-dawn hours that I love  Smile/happy/getting dizzy

Extending your trip. . .I understand! I try to do the same. But sometimes, when I could non-rev (on America West), doing this got me in some sticky situations that almost had me staying overnight to catch one of the next day's round of flights!

Cheers,

I like departing early in the morning from home because otherwise I'm left with the impression of having wasted the day, and return possibly in the mid-afternoon/sunset/night (that's because MXP is located just south of Alps wich looks amazing in the sunset light).

If I am flying long haul I prefer to do it in the evening to sleep all over the flight and arrive in the morning next day to my destination.

If flying short haul for a weekend trip, I prefer to do it on Saturday morning very early (first flight, ie 6.30am) and returning Sunday last flight (10pm)

Going there - I like to fly in the morning, even though I am not an early-bird!! but coming home usually midday or evening is best. Because most of the flights I have been on have had connections.  Smile/happy/getting dizzy

I like to fly in the evening... but landing must be before it's completely dark.

Night landing is also nice actually...

I could really care less...but if I had to choose I would prefer to fly in the afternoon or evening.

I generally prefer to start out early in the morning so I can have all day to fly & enjoy as well as engage in my signature snapshots from cruising altitude... Big grin Next week, I'll have a nice 13 hour trip to do just that!  Smile

I prefer flying when it's quiet. Early morning or late at night will do.

I prefer midday but often end up flying early or late because those are the cheapest tickets.

I usually coordinate my schedules with my parents' travel, because we are usually meeting somewhere, thus my flight times depend on their arrival at the airport (whether they are flying or driving.)

Early morning flights, like 5-6am when the sun just begins to rise. Beautiful sight.

I prefer to fly exactly when I need to be transported to somewhere else, not 30 minutes later.

Unfortunately I seldom agree with most airline companies about this subject.

Leaving Home - I like to leave early in the morning. I don't like to sit around the house and wait - I like to feel that I didn't waste my first day of the trip at home. Plus, I like to get to my destination when there is still a reasonable amount of daylight, (especially if it's a place where I've never been before) because it's easier to find your way around if you're not farmilliar with the area.

Returning Home - I like my vacation to last as long as possible, so I prefer to take the last flights of the day. (I like to be one of the first to give up my seat if the flight is overbooked.) I like to arrive around 9, 10, or 11 at night. Those are usually the times I go to bed, so I can just go home, jump in the bed, and worry about unpacking the next day.

Early morning or night, because the air is usually smoother.

I prefer the earliest possible departures.... 5/6am flights work well for me.
