Email From Mileage Plus

Tue Apr 29, 2003 10:27 am

My jaw dropped when I saw this one...

UA's Mileage Plus will give you 3,000 elite qualifying miles for each FF statement from competing airlines that you fax to them (limit three). This means you can get up to 9,000 qualifying miles towards Premier, Premier Exec or 1K status by just faxing your statements. You can't redeem those miles for travel though.

Anyone else got this email....?

Not yet but I certainly hope they do send it to me!!! If it is true that would mean only 5,000 more miles and I will have a free trip to the great land of OZ!!! That would be fantastic.

Dinker... the miles are only for elite qualification, they are not redeemable for travel. I checked with a couple of my friends - only those with Premier status or above got the email.....

Ex_SQer, thanks for the heads up. I guess I'll have to find some other way to get the miles up.

Although I know nothing at all about this....it sounds dangerously like one of those spam emails you get "forward to your friends and microsoft will give you $10" or "your account needs updating - fax us your life history!". Has anyone been able to verify this promotion with UA?

Aroundtheworld - it looks real. There is a link to sign in, and it goes through to Mileage Plus.

Odie - I will forward the email to you if you give me your email.
