Why did ua pull out of ISP? If there is low demand at least there is enough for ACA.

I don't know why they stopped flying to ISP (it probably was cause of low demand) but I remember seeing United 727's at ISP back in the late 80's.

Southwest was killing them (and virtually everyone else) out of ISP. More flights, more connections, lower fares. It wasnt a huge loss for the majors to pull out of ISP, but it did take some of their market share out of ISP. I would be very interested to know how WN is faring in ISP now with B6 at JFK. I imagine that their traffic has dropped a bit. Although WN out of ISP is still a fairly convienient option for travels from Suffolk County and points east.

UA left ISP well before WN came onto the scene.
