Tue May 06, 2003 1:00 am

Does anyone know what type of plane the NY Yankees are flying this season, and who is providing the service?

Continental...Remember last time the Yankees fly on a CO 757 and land at LGA at 2:45am after playing in west coast? It was also the first time a CO 757 landed in LGA

doesnt it seem odd that a Delta 757 is flying LGA-BFI on the same day the Yankees are due in to Seattle? I don't see any CO flights scheduled...

Considering what a money-making machine the Yankees are, I wonder why George the Terrible has not opted for a customized team plane. Even the utterly lousy Detroit Tigers have a D9-30 that they share with the Red Wings.
Maggs swings, it's a drive deep to left! The Tigers are going to the World Series!!!

I don't think it was the first time a CO 757 landed at LGA. The New York Jets chartered a CO 757 when they flew out to Denver to play the Broncos in the AFC Championship game a few years ago.

The only thing George spends money on is players. Take it from someone who grew up in the Bronx and went to high school 6 blocks away from Yankee Stadium. I'm surprised they ain't flying in a CRJ or an old Emery DC-8!!

I know that the Yankees have flown into LGA on a CO 752.

I would like to thank them for giving the opportunity to bring that kind of plane in...even though it was at 2AM and I couldn't enjoy it.

Just because an airline is that teams sponsor, it doesn't necessarily mean that the team flies that airline exclusively. I know that Delta heavily advertises at Fenway Park, but I know that the Red Sox split travel with everyone...be it Delta, Pan Am, or someone else.
