Where Is This Shot Taken @ ZRH?

is it the eralier discussed spot on the 6th floor from the parking lot? so the A330 is landing on rwy 28 in the morning?

or is it shot from a hill beside rwy 14?

any help appreciated .....

Oh yes, also from parking garage F, taken early in the morning, telling from the shadows....

ciao michael,

one quick question: which lense is needed, does a 300mm lense is enough ? and btw are you shooting digital or slides? i guess didgital, what camera do you own?

Hi Robin,

You're right, I'm shooting digital. I have never managed to get proper scans from my negatives, so I switched to digital photography.

The pictures were taken with a D60 and a 75-300 mm lens (plus the x1.6 crop factor of the camera). Most pictures were not taken with full zoom, for side-views of widebodies, a 100-150 mm zoom would be o.k.

By the way, all photos have been taken between 7:00 and 9:00 in the early morning. Light is not perfect them, the planes are almost flying out of the sun when approaching runway 28, but despite that, I think the results came out pretty nice.

okidok,

jep, sun is not good around that time for that spot ...... , that was great when they have beeen landing on rwy 14 around that time ...... so my 200mm lense with or without 1.4 teleconverter will work just perfect ..... , cant wait to be there ... , probably on thursday ....... , thx vm for the infos .... , btw the results are pretty good .......

I don't know how long they are landing on 28 on a weekday, perhaps until 8.00? At weekends, no landings are allowed from the north until 9.00 thanks to the German regulations.

Perhaps Unique can shed some light on this?

oops, that would be pretty stupid, standing at the aprking lot, and waiting for some birds to come in ..... , i thought landing on rwy 28 till 10:00 even on weekdays .....

Ok guys, no worries! Landings on runway 28 on weekdays until 7am and from 9pm until bedtime, landings on weekends and (german) public holidays until 9am and as per 8pm till bedtime.

...I forgot to ad: landings on runway 28 only if the visibility is more than 4500 metres! If it's lower, I guess you don't want to take pics... Big grin
