Très horrible!

This is one incident where I think the Hannity/Savage/O'Reilly-types are completely out of their minds!

This could cost Boeing money, and doesnt really hurt the French in any way; hell, if fact it may HELP them!

Read carefully. Condit will not be there, and will not be some other senior executives who used to regularly attend the Paris Air Show. But Mullaly will be there. Boeing will be there, but just with a smaller representation.

Agreed, that was my point.

Maybe they're not sending as many people because the expense isn't justified with a limited chance of rewards. With the airline industry down right now and few orders coming in, its probably isn't worth it to send as many people as before. Airbus on the other hand has it easy since the air show is literally in their back yard.

For once, I don't see where this is linked at all to anti-French sentiment. Sounds like just a practical business matter to me.

Clickhappy, do you really think airliner purchase decesions are made on air-shows?

It does look like reasonable business decesion to me; while they are cutting on production workforce, they don't really need to send hundreds to each airshow. Perhaps showcasing products once every two years, at Farnborough, is wiser economically.

As about lack of Lockheed, military ac performance at La Bourget, so did the French call off their appearence on Centenial of Flight celebration in Dayton this year. They cited economical reasons as well.

You might want to pay more attention to what you read, little shooter.

Mr Conditt won't be there and the US military will be a skeleton crew only. There will be Americans though. The military will be on the static only.

Also, the USAF may have "advised" Boeing not to take their military jets, it does not mention anything about Boeing civil planes. They might therefore still come.

On the other hand, last year's Farnborough show was truly "packed" with Boeing civil planes. Boeing managed to send a full total of 1 civil airplanes. An old B737-400 (the Conexxion plane).

Boeing is no doubt going to bring the 773ER... it will be the highlight of the show without question. If they fail to do so, serious blunder on their part.
