My Apple Is On Its Way-Taiwan-SEA-AFW-Waco (time?)

Thu May 08, 2003 2:29 am

They said my Powerbook was shipped last night. So think this out with me.

If it left Taiwan last night (like they said it did) and is going to SEA (like they said it would) it should be here Thursday evening or Friday morning, right?

I think that FedEx flight gets to SEA at about 5pm or so. Then it would transfer to AFW, arriving about midnight. Then it will probably get trucked to Waco.

What do you say to that?

FedEx doesn't carry all it shipments on their own planes. Just a part of it...
It could also be loaded on a NWA or UA-flight. So don't bet on your routing.
If they told you so...maybe, but things change quickly in regardence of capacity, number of shipments etc.

All depends on FedEx. Did you get a tracking #?

Congratulations on your purchase! you'll love it. What model did you buy? Mine "flew in" through Anchorage, and it took a while for it to clear customs.

They ship them direct from Taiwan, that is quite some shipping overhead for Apple!

Apple's not the only company shipping from Taiwan. When I ordered a Gateway 450 notebook it shipped from Taiwan. It must be cheaper to build them over there and send them over here. When my Gateway was shipped it was shipped via UPS. The tracking number I put in came up with some 250 other packages in the same shipment being delivered in the US.

Ipods are also made in Taiwan, mine arrived yesterday and came with UPS.
My Powerbook is almost 2 years old now (G4 550), but I recall it also being shipped by UPS.

Actually, if I'm not mistaken...if it went on a pssenger plane, it would have been EVA Air. They are the only passenger non-stop TPE-SEA.
