British Midland Question...

Sat May 10, 2003 7:40 pm

Does anybody know when British Midland started flying from Teesside to Heathrow?

I remeber flying with them in about 1980, on a Viscount. But have they always operated that route or did Dan Air have it before them.

What about Northeast Airlines, did they ever operate it?

Thanks in adavance,

i worked in MME for british midland around 1975 - 1979 and they had been flying already a long time then
dan-air never flew the route, before BD it was done by autair internation - which i think became court line
i think it used to go MME-EMA-LHR at the beginning

Antonov man is correct. British Midland picked up the route from Autair. Northeast operated Newcastle, not Teesside.

Thanks Antonovman and Skymonster.

Do any of you two know much about charter operators from Teesside during the 70's?

In 1973 I flew MME to Palma, Majorca. Could that route have been operated with a Dan Air Comet?

I'd appreciate any info.
