DL' New Ad Campaign-"Home. You'll Get Used To It"

Tue May 13, 2003 3:26 pm

Has anyone heard about the new Delta ad campaign being run in ATL?

Home. You'll get used to it.

Click on the link above to see three TV spots, hear two radio ads and see the print ads for this campaign, which is running in the Atlanta marke.

So what do you all think? I think it's kind of mediocre. Plus the slogan doesn't even mention Delta. I like the idea of home (something warm and fuzzy to most of us) but I think a better slogan might have been "Delta. We'll bring you home." or something along those lines.

Home? You'll get use to it? Why cause their fares are so damn high I won't be able to leave home? That was my initial thought before looking at the ads...

Geesh...

(random thought nothing to do with this: would someone please tell my coworker that snapping/smacking gum after being asked to stop nicely is f**king rude cause I'm about to go crazy!)

mediocre, low budget, yea; but cute I guess. I like the "Atlanta...500x daily" ad.

I guess I never understand this concept, if you already for the most part own ATL why do you pump all those dollars into advertising to get business that you already are most likely to get, because you are the biggest carrier in the market?

Delta is pushing it's one big advantage over AirTran in Atlanta: frequency. It's trying to emphasize that out-and-back is easier on Delta because they offer more flights. In the mean time, AirTran is slowly adding frequency on many routes.

Given so many people are staying home, I think Leo Burnett may have gaffed...

I agree, home is not the right word to encourage people to travel. Of course this line of advertisements are really after the business traveler who usually bring in more revenue. Out and back the same day is attractive to those who are tired of hotels.

DL will do anything to put AirTran out of business....

...I do not believe their arrogance will hold out much longer.

Home. You'll get used to it after we deny boarding, or cancel your flight.

You'll stay home because Delta has cut frequency, cut amenities, discourages your loyalty through SkyMiles changes, has closed Crown Room Clubs, and demands unreasonable fares.

I agree TOTALLY. It's a joke what they've done to their SkyMiles Medallion program. Not to mention it's almost impossible getting an award ticket to any destination worth a crap.

Delta holds a special place in my heart as it was the first carrier I ever flew to England. With that said it is now one of my least favorite carrier and I do EVERYTHING to avoid flying on them. Way and I mean way to many bad experiences flying them via Atlanta and do not even get me started about the staff, both on the ground and in the air. Sorry as at one time I truly loved them.

Does Delta really only have 500 dailies to Atlanta? I thought it was more like 700.
