Best Way GOT-FLL?

Sat May 17, 2003 12:35 am

I'm probably flying to FLL the 7th of October, I have two options:

GOT-CDG, AF
CDG-ATL, AF
ATL-FLL, DL
FLL-CVG, DL
CVG-CDG, AF
CDG-GOT, AF

GOT-ARN, SK
ARN-EWR, SK
EWR-FLL, CO
FLL-EWR, CO
EWR-CPH, SK
CPH-GOT, SK

The AF, DL is about 450 Euros and SK, CO is about 599 Euros, what to prefer?

I myself like CO over DL tho that is a personal opinion as I have always had better service with CO than with DL. That said if you stay all DL do they not code share with AF and you would get more miles? And save money it looks like. After all it is only 2 domestic flights and you are flying AF over the pond. Which has the planes you would like to fly on? Who offers more to keep you busy flying the longest? AF or SK.

You have to ask yourself some questions?

1. Do you have a mileage account with any of the above?
2. How much of connection hassle do you want to deal with? CDG and ATL are very big airports!! EWR is big but totally manageable.
3. How badly do you want to fly on the SK 340? Is the SK flight the 763 or the 340??

I think once you answer those you will come up with an answer.

Is flying to MIA an option? Certainly you could skip one hop (i.e., just go GOT-CDG-MIA) doing so, and MIA is just 20 miles from FLL. It might also open up some other alternatives like LH, AZ, KL, and IB, for example.

And from a spotting perspective, MIA is far cooler than FLL.

Thanks for all the replies, I have flow directly to MIA a couple of times with AF and BA, hate the drive to and from Fort Lauderdale and I also want to try some new routes... I think it's going to be AF since I'm in there's FF program, and like there transatlantic service. I just don't have any experience with the domestic US market...
