Continental does not fly a 767 from CLE
because the plane is too large and heavy when loaded with the fuel required for the transatlantic trip to LGW
for the type of runways at CLE
right now. Loads are also not apparently good on the route (CO plans to suspend it after the summer 2003 travel season). It uses the 767-200's it has (only 10 in the fleet) on routes that warrant it and perhaps make more money.
As for the resumption of PIT
-Europe flights on US, it is interesting to note as US is using a 767-200ER for the LGW
flight and an A330 for the FRA
flight. I would have thought the LGW
flight would require more seats but I guess not.
