You both still miss the point that wha happened in this incident *could* have happened prior to 11/9, and the increased security measures since 11/9 have done NOTHING to prevent an incident of this nature.
I am all for increased security, locked flight doors, reinforced flight deck doors, etc, I am all for it, should have happened a long time ago.
No metal cutlery, this is just stupid, there are still wine bottles on board, and a smashed wine botle can do far more damage than a metal knife ever will.
Non-passengers past security on DOM sectors? The only reason I can see for this is that it allows screening staff to pay more attention, since they have less people that they have to screen.
Overall though, it does little to nothing to increase security, since these same screening saff are mostly dozing off anyway, or if employed by the TSA
, are carrying out Hitler routines anyway.
The situation post-11/9 is an absolute joke, and should not be the way it is now. I concede that it needed to be upgraded, but they have gone the wrong way about it.
