NW will close their 747generic base in MSP and HNL in November. Additionally, the HNL DC10 will re-open to support more DC10 service in the Pacific.
There will be increased usage of the A320 out of Tokyo until traffic picks up, at which time NW will consider using the 747-200 once again. HNL/NRT and LAX/NRT will likely transition to the -400 with SEA keeping -200 service for Tokyo. SFO will most likely keep its DC10 service to Tokyo until the A330-200 is delivered. Hopefully the A330 fleet will be on accelerated delivery in light of parking more whales.
It looks like the 747-400 will be out of the Atlantic as the A330 enters the market and the -400 will be a Pacific only plane.
