No relation between Ryan Int'l and Ryanair. Ryan Int'l has contracted with AirTran to operate long-haul routes until AirTran can get it's own suitable aircraft and crews. As of next week, two Ryan A320s are operating in full AirTran colors (with 12/144 seats) from Atlanta to Los Angeles and Las Vegas with two round trips each. Las Vegas has reduced frequency on Tuesdays for aircraft maintenance. The flights are staffed with Ryan pilots and flight attendants. The contract is for six-months, renewable. There is talk of adding a third and maybe fourth A320 for Phoenix and San Francisco and possibly to serve the West coast from Milwaukee as well as Atlanta. AirTran has stated it's intention to order fifty to one hundred aircraft (including some with transcontinental range) sometime this Summer. The pilots' union is allowing AirTran to sublet the West coast service until there are 25 suitable aircraft in AirTran's own fleet. AirTran is planning major East-West growth in the next year.
How is the leg room on Ryan Intl's A320's. Considering that HP's are configured 12/138 and coach although not bad is still not great. I would imagine the extra seats on Ryan Intl's would be a little more cramped.
