KLM 744 At DFW?

Fri Jun 06, 2003 6:49 am

Hello all,
a pax KLM 744 just took off from DFW at 16:45. Regularly KLM doesn't fly here. Could it have been the MEX flight making a fuel or emergency stop?

Any info appreciated!

I talked to some friends in Houston earlier and they said there were some severe thunderstorms in the area. I am sure it is a diversion from IAH.

The KLM MEX flight usually overflies a little closer to MSY than DFW, I've heard him and the BA MEX flight on my scanner on more than one occasion.

The KLM IAH flight has also diverted in here before due to IAH weather.

Yep, Austin and San Antonio got many of those diversions as well.

The KLM flight was indeed diverted on the AMS-IAH leg:

Klm Royal Dutch Airlines 661
Amsterdam (EHAM) - Dallas (DFW)
Boeing 747-400

Klm Royal Dutch Airlines 661
Dallas (DFW) - Houston (IAH)

Thats the way it usually goes, this has happend a couple times this year already. DFW gets IAH diverts, and IAH gets DFW diverts. Too bad I am never there for them.
