Japan Airlines Announces Schedule Changes

JAL GROUP FLIGHT SCHEDULE CHANGES

Tokyo June 10
The Japan Airlines Group today announced further adjustments to its international passenger flight schedule during the first half of FY2003, following earlier changes announced in March, April and May.

The latest changes cover the period July through August and include restoration of some flights and routes, the extension of frequency reduction on some routes, route consolidations, continuation of temporary route suspensions and adjustments to code share flights with other airlines.

The changes reflect the changes in passenger demand following the Iraq war and the outbreak of SARS and are based on the planned 2003 summer schedule announced in January. The changes listed below were filed with the Japan government’s aviation authorities today.


Frequency revisions and restorations - back to normal operation on four routes

Tokyo-Hong Kong / From July 1
Increased from 7 flights per week to 14 flights per week. (-14, normal is 28 p.w.)

Tokyo-Los Angeles /From July 15
Restored to 8 flights per week from 7 per week. (normal)

Tokyo-Zurich /From June28
Restored to 7 flights per week from suspension. (normal)

Tokyo-Honolulu /From July 15
Increased from 14 to 21 flights per week (-7, normal is 28 p.w.)

Osaka-Honolulu / From July 15
Restored to 14 flights a week from 7 (normal)

Nagoya-Bangkok / From July 1
Restored to 4 per week from 2 (normal)


Route Changes

Nagoya-Tokyo-New York - Sao Paulo / July 1 - August 31
Operating Once weekly incresed to 3 per week

Current Japan-Brazil operation is 4 flights per week, 3 from Tokyo to Sao Paulo via New York, plus one starting in Nagoya. Now decided on Nagoya as starting point for 3 flights on the Sao Paulo route, one from Tokyo.


Route Consolidations

Osaka-Guam & Osaka-Saipan will now operate Osaka-Guam-Saipan-Osaka 7 flights per week by JALways.

From 13 per week to 10 per week.

Tokyo-Paris / 7/15-8/31
From 10 per week to 8 per week.

Tokyo-Shanghai / 7/15-8/31
From 16 per week to 14 per week.

From 21 per week to 14 per week.

Osaka-London / 7/1-8/31
From 7 per week to 5 per week.

Osaka-Paris / 7/1-8/31
From 4 per week to 2 per week.

Osaka-Ho Chi Minh / 7/1-7/14

Nagoya-Shanghai / 7/15-8/31
From 7 per week to 5 per week.
