Skyservice To Punta Cana

Thu Jun 12, 2003 8:56 am

Hey,

I was just wondering does Skyservice use their A330-300 down to Punta Cana and Puerto Plata during the summer months or is it just a bunch of A320's and A319s?

Thanks and Best Regards,

I think it depends on the loads - they are a charter airline, right?

I mean, the Danish charters who are flown by MYT, can often change equipment from week to week. A good example could be, that when my dad & his girlfried went to the Canaries, they flew out on a A320, but returned the next week on a A330.

Most charters, as well as some scheduled airlines, operate this way (they can switch a flight from a A319 to a A321 if the loads go up or reverse).

Since summer is the slow season for Caribbean charters, I would guess it's all 320/319. The 333 is largely deployed on Euro flights in the summer.
I dumped at the gybe mark in strong winds when I looked up at a Porter Q400 on finals. Can't stop spotting.

Hey,

Thanks. I guess the same goes for Air Transat. The travelled called the other day to inform us of the flight changes with our flight to Punta Cana on the 29th. Now we are stopping over in Puerto Plata and then continuing over to Punta Cana. I appears that Air Transat is only sending one plane down to The D.R. this summer a week and passengers going to La Romana are being bussed down from Punta Cana Airport. I really hope that Air Transat switches back the flight to the A310 or upgrade to the A330 but I doubt it might happen.

I was at PUJ last February, and I saw a Skyservice A319 and A320 on the tarmac. No A330. However, I did see an Air Transat A330-200 there.
