At least one freshly painted L1011 intended for Northeast Airlines (the same one who left their pilots dry in Burkina Faso, I believe) was aquired by Viva Airlines, which is owned by the Auxer Group. The L1011 is planned to start service as Northeast Bolivian Airlines offering service in "South America". Sounds suspicious me, but it is reported here in Yahoo Finance:
and pictures of the Northeast birds with "Bolivian Airlines" added onto them are here:
Who is this Auxer group? Were they involved in the Northeast Airlines that owned the L1011s based in Swaziland? They seem to own a bunch of small airlines (Viva, Fina, and now Northeast Bolivia AL) that operate orphaned gas guzzlers: 727, DC9, 737-200, Saab 340, and L1011.
Can anybody come up with more info on this interesting airline?
