CO 777 @ MSY

I noticed that CO flt#51 a 777 from EWR made an unscheduled arrival at MSY this evening..Does anyone know the reason for the stop in MSY?

I am pretty sure it was weather related as ontime for the day was appaling. I flew IAH>EWR and then after getting bumped from the LGW flight flew to MAN and then took the bus down to London. The IAH leg was extremely turbulent, and as it was oversold I ended up in 44d and let's just say that the back of the 777 isn't very comfie in Turbulence. Managed to get upfront for the EWR>MAN leg, and then spoiled it by taking the coach bus to London

Darnit I missed it...I did see the one that came here about a year ago though....777's are beautiful aircraft.

Why would one take a coach from MAN to LGW, or London in general? Unless it's drastically changed in the last decade, trains (Sunday excepted) are usually faster and less prone to traffic. The M5/1 to M23 trip by road alone can take several hours, for a less than one hour drive, under a myriad of conditions.

MSY saw the following CO flight diversions here this evening due to severe weather in IAH....

B777-200, Flight 51, EWR-IAH
B767-400, Flight 1687, CO / KMCO), USA - Florida">MCO-IAH
B767-200, Flight 47, AMS-IAH
MD-80, Fflight 1283, BOS-IAH
MD-80, Flight 491, MIA-IAH
B737-500, Flight 1961, CLT-IAH

A nice mix this evening! I think this is the first time MSY has ever seen a CO 764, although the 777 and 762 have both visited on several occassions.
