BA Or SAS

Mon Jun 16, 2003 1:29 am

Hi all,

I have looked on SAS's website and they don't give much info regarding their business class. With me travelling to Bangkok, I do not know whether to travel BA WTP or SAS Business Class.

I roughly know what BA's WTP service is about, but I do not know much about SAS's Business Class.

Who would you fly? What are your opinions on the services offered by these two airlines?

Many thanks in advance

I was thinking that aswell, but I do not know what SAS's service is like. I was quoted around £1300 for both airlines. So far SAS are going to get my cutome, but I would just like some info.

P.S. It all depends on service, if SAS do not come up to scrath then I will fly BA.

I would prefer SAS if I were you - nice business class - my uncle was flying their A340 on CPH-NRT in Business - he said it was breathtaking!

Spotterboy,

Do you know what the seating configuration of SAS's Business Class is? Also, did your uncle use their sleeper seats? I looked on their website and they said you have to pay extra to use them.

I would go with BA, don't know much about SAS's Business Class. I don't even know what SAS's Business Class looks like.

Go SAS !!!

SAS sort of invented the whole Business Class concept, calling it EuroClass back in the 80's when their slogan was "The Businessman's Airline"

It has always been one of their key strengths and additional to that, you get to connect through a really nice airport... CPH.

Go to their web site scandinavian.net Under About SAS you can find photos of crew, cabins and all. You can also view the seating layout of the various types.

Have a good trip and let us know who you chose and how it was.

WTP is just the economy class with better pitch and wider seats. I did IAD-LHR in February in WTP. The service is mediocre at best, and the food is not edible. Why would you forgo SAS Business in favor of WTP? There is no comparison.

PKK, I always had the impression that Qantas was the first airline to introduce business class?

Monarch, I've flown intercontinental on the SAS Business Class a number of times, and have never been disappointed. Most of my flights have been with B767, but I've also tried out their new A330/A340. The A330/A340 is clearly a step forward - 2+2+2 seating, around 50" pitch and PTV (photo from SAS FlightOps http://www.sasflightops.com/gallery/A330/Images/A330LNRKH_10.jpg).
The meals/treatment on board have been very good, and if you need to know more about the SAS catering, try this web-page: http://www.airlinemeals.net/meals/ScandinavianAirlines.html
