Iran Air A330 Query And European Network Opinion

Sat Jun 21, 2003 12:02 am

When are IR going to recieve their four A330-200? will they add new routes with the type or will they just replace the 747SP? and how come they have such an impressive west European network? I think its by far the best of all the middle eastern carriers.

(I seem to be answering most of your questions today, Airmale!)

The IR 332 issue is being held up by the US embargo and this is likely to be the case for some time. The airline has 12 332s on order, but is unlikely to see these for a long time, particularly now that Iran is seriously in the doghouse over the whole nuclear inspections issue - not only with the US, but with Europe as well.

I would have to disagree. I have flown on Iran Air numerous times and I thought it was not that great of an airline and is not by far the best of all the Middle Eastern carriers. Emirates Airlines in my opinion is a much better airline.
