FORT WORTH, Texas, June 23 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Beginning Tuesday, Aug. 5, American Eagle will begin nonstop service between Northwest Arkansas Regional Airport and Los Angeles International Airport. American Eagle was the first airline to serve Northwest Arkansas when the airport opened in November 1998, beginning regional jet service that very same month. In addition, the carrier began service from the area to New York LaGuardia in December 2000.
"American Eagle has enjoyed tremendous support from Northwest Arkansas travelers, particularly from our friends at Wal-Mart. They've long asked us to consider adding service to Los Angeles," said Tom Bacon, senior vice president -- Marketing and Planning for American Eagle. "Despite the difficult environment in which most airlines are operating, I'm pleased that continuing to take delivery of new regional jets has allowed us to make this new service a reality. We look forward to a long and healthy relationship with northwest Arkansas travelers."
