Thai does not have PTVs on their 777s, because they are regional aircraft. SQ, AF, RG, and AZ I'm pretty sure do have, and UA has on all aircraft not in the Hawaii configuration. CX I'm not too sure.

CX has PTVs on their A340s, and SQ used to have (they retired the A340s). Air France probably has, because the 747s (with the exception of the newest ones) are the only long haul aircraft in the fleet without PTVs.

@CHRISBA777ER

The Austrian 340 are definitely not all equipped with PTV's. Last December/January January I flew on a 340-200 VIE-KIX-VIE, and this plane was definitely not equipped with PTV's (to make things worse, on the outbound flight, the audio system and reading light also refused to work, at least in my seat, and so the flight was veeeeeeery long.......).

Cheers, Thomas

Now that I think about it it may not have had PTV's - i usually fly Emirates, and they normally do - i sure it did, and im certain it was an A330-200!

MD-11 forever,

Not all Austrian A340s have PTVs. Back in 1999 when I flew on OE-LAH A340-200, there were no PTVs in economy class, but I was lucky enough to be flying in Grand Class that time so it was no problem for me.

I think this is how AUA has fitted their A340s: (If anyone knows more than this, pleas correct me)

A340-200: No PTVs
A340-300: Has PTVs

Just to add to CHRISBA777ERs extensive list:

777:

Thai first had PTVs in their 772s but later took them out (why ?).

China Southern has PTVs in their -200ERs.

PIA will have PTVs in their 777s from what I have read in pressreleases.

Khalifa never operated any revenue fligths with their 777s but BA, the previous operator of the aircraft had PTVs so it would have been surprising if Khalifa took them out.

United Airlines has PTVs in all three class 777s (54 out of 60 777s) and the two class mostly fly to HNL from US west coast or DEN.

Air Austral : does NOT have PTVs in economy class. They do in their Premium economy class.

Vietnam Airlines have PTVs in their first two 777s in economy since they are for longhaul. The next four will NOT have PTVs in Y.

Take Care

Gulf air is leasing two ex-SQ A340-300s, both of which have PTVs, of course.

These A340s will be used on Sydney runs.

It'll be a crime if SQ does not install any PTVs in their 777 planes.

They have retired their 340 planes, but all of them used to have PTVs in all classes.

Are you sure Thai has PTVs in their 744?

THAI has PTV in Business class of all B777-200, B777-300 and A330-300. No PTV in Y class on any of their aircrafts.

LanChile has PTVs not only in thier entire A340-300 fleet, of the entire 767-300ER fleet too. Their PTV system is one of the best out there, all on-demand and with games.

I don't think EVA Air or China Airlines have PTVs in Economy on their 747-400s.

The new incoming A330-200s are the only ones with PTVs in Economy.

Gulf Air

Fri Jun 27, 2003 3:16 am

Gulf Air:

The five of the six 'original' A340s remaining in the fleet (A4O-LB - A4O-LF) DO NOT have PTV's in Y.

The two 'new' A340s (ex-SQ, A4O-LG and A4O-LH?) DO have PTV's in Y.

All six A330-200s (A4O-KA - A4O-KF) DO have PTV's in Y.

EVA does not have PTV's in economy but they do have them in Evergreen Deluxe Class which takes up most of their 747's.

LANChile must be the only airline with PTVs in Coach on 767-300ERs, you don't come around that much.
AEROFLOT has PTVs in Business/First on the 767 and 777.

UA does have PTVs in the 763s, three class configuration. UA also has some two class configuration 763s that are mainly used for Hawaii flights but also does some intra hub flights. UA put PTVs in the 763s a few years ago so the trip report may have been from a trip before they were intstalled.

Curious about Korean Air's 777s; Do they all have PTVS now ? I flew them in 1997 and they did not have them then but I heard a yaer or so ago that they were to be retrofitted with the PTVs.

Thanls !
