Routing For TWA's New 717

Sat Dec 11, 1999 12:27 pm

Does anyone have any clue what cities TWA will use their new 717's in? Will they be used more regionally (STL-IND, STL-MCI) or longer trips (such as STL-MIA, STL-JFK)? Any suggestion either?

Thanks,

I think that TWA will fly them out of their Saint Louis hub to destinations like Indianapolis, Cleveland or Kansas City. They will be operated on flights less than two hours, where the DC-9-30's have been flown. The 717, originally the MD-95, is simply the successor to the DC-9.

Indeed. It seems the 717 will take over the short-haul high density routes as the DC9's are phased out while the A318's (arriving 2002) will handle longer range, low capacity traffic.
