TransMeridian TOL & RFD - Monday

Sun Jul 06, 2003 9:01 am

After loading the schedules a couple days ago, they will make a formal press release Monday. Flights will operated daily, except Tuesday, from Toledo and Rockford to Orlando Sanford. The aircraft will overnight in TOL and fly to SFB before doing the RFD turn and then head back to TOL. They will be ground handled by Delta (Comair) in TOL and use Gate 2. There will be a press conference held in the main terminal, by the check in area, Tuesday by TMA and the Port Authority in TOL.

Round trip fares between TOL and SFB will start at $123.60.

DL in TOL was told a 757 initially, but seeing that it is going to be doing a turn to Rockford as well, it'll probably be a 727. We'll know for sure when the press release comes out Monday.

Transmeridian 727's are very comfortable aircraft. I used to work them when they replaced one of Vanguard's 737-200's on the MSY-MCI route for 2 months last year. Some of the 727's still had Continental's interior....very nice overall. But really, any 727 is good. I do know that most of trijets hold 170+ if I can remember correctly...is there enough demand to warrant that you think?

Not sure about RFD...TOL does around 100+ ppd to MCO according to the 2Q02 numbers...which i'm sure are pretty low. ATA does around 30-40 to MCO themselves now I believe, Ryan can chime in and say what it is for sure. DL though is likely king in the market now, and there numbers aren't available.

ATA use to have 173 seats in there 727-200's. We use to use them for charter flights, and the 757-200's had 216 to 218 depending on what configuration we ended up with.
