I was looking at airfares between ATL
and the prices are way too high for a poor person like me, around the $225-270 range round trip. FL
has the X-Fares program where you can travel anywhere FL
flies to for only $52 per segment if you are between ages 18-22 (I am). Since I live in ATL
, that means that it's only $104 for me to go IAD
round trip. It seems like a great deal.
Has anyone used the X-Fares program? Was it a good experience? Was it pretty painless to just go up to check-in desk and get on the standby list? Since you are flying standby, what are the chances of getting on the first flight? I know the ATL
-DC corridor is one of the busiest in the nation, so is there is good chance I could get bumped off a couple of flights before actually getting on a plane?
