AerLingusa330/ContinentalEWR: That's amazing...I didn't know that one of the engines from UA175 was found on a street near the WTC! I saw the documentary also, and they had set aside some pieces from the jets, and the piece of fuselage from UA175 which had the faint UA
colors on it.
Can't speak about AA77, but I think some pieces were taken from UA93 in western PA, for analysis. That plane hit so hard it went underground several feet and shattered, but I seem to recall hearing some of the flight deck components were recovered.
It would have been amazing, and lucky, if any of the FDR's had been found and functional.
The forensics teams were able to, by process of elimination, identify the remains of the Muslim cowards who hijacked the jets. No clue what happened to those, but who really cares?
