764 & 777

Why do most of you think the 767-400 hasn't sold as well as it's predocessors? I personally think it's because the 777 could be considered comparable, but I'm not sure, just curious because as far as I know only 2 airlines operate them (CO and DL).

The 764ER has extreme difficulty competing against the A332 due to its inability to carry two LD3 containers side-by-side and its shorter range.

The latter weakness was to be addressed by a 764ERX model, but that proposal was cancelled alongside the original 747X in 2001... little interest in either, and they would have utilized the same engine.
