Electra Crash In B.C.

Thu Jul 17, 2003 11:16 am

According to the CBC, Air Spray has lost a Lockheed Electra water bomber, losing all on board. Sad news. Air Spray had just recently acquired their 8th Electra, this one coming from South Africa. I believe this is their first hull loss since the hangar fire of 2000, where they lost an Electra, as well as 3 A-26 Invaders.

My condolences to the family, friends, and co-workers of the two airmen.

I am very familiar with the type of flying performed by Airspray.

My deepest sympathies to friends and families.

I live in Red Deer (the home base for the Electra's) and the latest Electra purchased was a Channel Express still in the full colours arrived here a few weeks ago. There's still a all white one and a Reeves from Alaska in full colours as well.

This is indeed sad news for the friends and families and Airspray, my thoughts are with them.

ps. Thanks for posting this news T.J., I hadn't had time for radio or TV today.
