Very sad indeed. I am assuming it is just in transport to a museum, and that it will be reassembled for display?

The museum's website has been following the move and has a specil Concorde microsite

http://www.technik-museum.de/concorde/index.html

For more pics of the move, bring up the map and then click on the red and blue buttons along the route

(Quite funny that the original picture links have to come from a rival site....I guess they may find their way onto airliners in a few weeks time.)

A very sad day.
I am disappointed to see that it will be impossible to visit the Concorde, as per the picture from the museum.
The only pleasant thing to me is all the boats around Concorde.
Even without wings, people like to see her.

If she is put on show like the TU144 you will be able to visit and go inside her.

There is a spiral staircase leading up to the back of the aircraft, so you can walk through.

For those not very good at German, I can report that they have reached a bridge that turned out to be a bigger obstacle than expected. That was around 15 minutes ago. They have completed the journey down the Autobahn, with thousands lining the Autobahn, the roads leading there as well as all of the bridges that was crossed during the drive.

Also, the site is frquently updated with pictures

"If she is put on show like the TU144 you will be able to visit and go inside her." - does it mean, it is possible to visit Tu144? If yes, on my next vacation I'm going there.

So what else did you do on Saturday, Daniel? As I already wrote in another thread, I spent the whole afternoon at the ramp at Altlussheim/Sauloch - awesome, absolutely spectacular!
Combined it with some biking, one way from Mannheim by bike (30 km), one way by train. And that on the hottest day of the year...
