According to the PR Newswire, they have ordered 12 sets.
Southside Irish...our two teams are the White Sox and whoever plays the Cubs!

Not surprising, since they fly such long hauls. Anyone know why they didn't get them with the plane from the get-go?

Yes, it is! So Southwest are already getting on orders by winglets and will be deliveries by next year of 2004. This exactly I heard once before from their post of the months ago.

It's about time. I don't know why they didn't get them from the begining. They always planned from the start to use the -700's only for transpac flights and I know they have had times when the flights went out with payload restrictions.

About time is right. I'm glad to see someone talked some sense into CEO Zanders head. Should have been done from the beginning, but Aloha is very conservative and very slow to jump on a good thing. Why do you think it took AQ so long to start flying out of Hawaii to begin with?? I can't wait to see the first airplane fitted with that good looking winglet!
