LGB Slot Revisal

Thu Jul 24, 2003 3:47 am

Is there any chance in the future that Long Beach is going to revise, or perhaps completely get rid of its slots required for operations?

There's a huge NIMBY element at LGB. They are already unhappy that operations are now up against the slot limit -- I wouldn't look for the slot restrictions to be eased. If airlines push to ahrd on the legal side, they could find themselves on the wrong side of a referendum to restrict slots even further, or possibly end scheduled ops into LGB.

Nah I doubt that scheduled flights will ever leave LGB. But I don't see the slots getting increased anytime soon.
