Last Plane Out...

Thu Jul 24, 2003 9:57 am

As I have a strange situation next week a new topic of discussion entered my mind. I am arriving at 6:31 on a DL flight from CVG into SDF. I am coming back from a cruise vacation with my 3 kids. I then found out after booking everything that I need to be in LAX the next morning for work.

So, I really had to find a flight that would allow me to get in, change bags and get onto another flight. I ended up on an 8:25pm flight on NW to MEM and then connecting to LAX.

Since SDF is a hub city we have to connect to almost every destination that isn't another hub -- and usually do that too to save money.

So, is there a benefit to an airline in having the last flight of the day out of a particular city? Especially when that flight goes to a hub where you could connect to other flights? I would be interested in hearing from people who also originate in a non-hub city.
